I used to have season tickets in the late 90s... even though i was a little kid i loved going to the mallards games... my dad told me i slept through game 7 of the 1997 cup finals... even when the mallads won in overtime dad said i was sleeping.. bummer!

Welcome Home to the Mark of the Quad Cities. Been standing since 1993 when I was but 5 years of age. I'm glad we built it.

@iainm5 I know this conversation is old, but I just found it. I knew one of the owners of the Flames, and it was all about attendance. The Quad Citians were apathetic and didn't care about having the second-highest level of hockey in the country, possibly the world (my words, not the owners'). They didn't show up, even though tickets were cheap, and the owners essentially bled dry. Now, the 300,000+ people in the QC are so apathetic that they allowed the Mallards to go down the tubes as well.

They should keep the mallard name a jump to the AHL!

Btw, why did they move? Was it attendance?

@iainm5 I dont think the Flames name was well recieved in the QC however Anaheim needs a AHL Farm team so the QC would be a perfect fit!
