In May 2010, ENA successfully completed on schedule a two-part implementation for the largest school system in Tennessee: the first a high-speed, district-wide, fiber-based Wide Area Network and the second a hosted, fully featured, Voice over Internet Protocol telephony system. The new managed network foundation is an integral part of the new administration's commitment to a transformation in both student outcomes and operational efficiencies. Strategic achievements: an annual cost savings of $1.7 million and cost avoidance of $4.5 million; a ten-fold bandwidth increase at the high schools; the convergence of voice, data and video, including the ability to multi-cast; and a reduction of the district's technical support burden.
