ICC-clearcuts from Shady Grove Rd to Redland Rd

Inter-County connector construction has clearcut a path from Shady Grove Road all the way to Cashell Estates at Redland Road.

At present most work seems to be on building a bridge over Shady Grove Road, though that has not stopped massive "access" clearcutting.
They do not appear to have graded for road construction-the ground is entirely too hilly and rough in the devastated area for a highway without massive further earthmoving.

The culverts shown in this video had to be present for this "access road" as they call it to be built.

Now we know why they kept Derwood awake 24-7 for weeks back in the winter-so this access road would not be held up until Jhuly at the earliest! That culvert(the second set of two in this segment) entombs a tributary to Mill Creek, a tributary of Rock Creek.

Further work in the streams themselves has been forbidden until July in most areas and August in a few to allow trout spawning-and that has bottled up this destructive project! In addition, demolition of the beseiged homes in Cashell Estates and elsewhere seems to be on hold as long as possible. No doubt this is to limit losses if the appeals court puts a stop to ICC construction, at which point undemolished homes could be resold.

The true value of delaying tactics like sediment control complaints/inspections, lawsuits, etc is now evident. Had a "stop work" order arrived on the last day of that culvert's construction, the access road and all work dependent on it would have been stopped for THREE MONTHS!

The authorities are not happy about citizen opposition to the ICC. In one reported incident a few months ago, neighbors went out and literally hugged trees on the site to protest their removal. The result? A huge number of cops swarmed the scene, giving the excuse that they thought "radicals and terrorists" were coming!

Seems to me the real terrorists are those who destroy the forest and condemn family homes to make way for this 18 mile toll road to Konterra. No-that's the Konterrorists!
