Its is definatly a lantern....being a taxi driver in chester I see loads exactly the same...and the glowing is when the currents high above make the flame flutter...

I swear that last night , (thursday 2nd of september) me and my family saw that exact 'thing' in the sky. it was obvious it was a ufo because it was darting around in different directions!

Seen loads of these i captured one over bishop monkton i see them every weekend nearly when i goe see my parents i take the dog out at 8.30 and they seem to always be around in the area ive had three close encounters and i will tell you these they are 100 per cent not chinese lanterns me and my daughter saw 100 one night last year before they started apearing around the country i live near i spy base menwith hill and they were heading in that direction.
