if you have a xo laptop go into terminal and type this: sudo olpc-update ubuntu
thats how i got it to work on my xo..... nothing else needed!

You do know you can install Linux via USB and SD, right? I know these laptops have SD card slots, and they should also have a USB port or two.

how do you INSTALL it, i need help with that. if you could put up a TUT on installing it i will subscribe and give you five stars on all of your vids even if they suck. And if you want i can help you with linux and comptia work, i have 3 certs in computers but this one stumps on my brain...

Not hatin' - it's a vid I appreciate you doing, showing something that needed to be seen, BUT...I have to agree with breakablec, a little communication would've been nice. Maybe in the info on right you could explain HOW it was done? Did you have to get a developer key to kill XO-1's DRM? Are you running 8.04 off an SD or the NAND. Did you use an external usb cd drive to run the iso install or...? Do you have the LiFePO4 or NiMH and how does 8.04 affect watt-hours vs. Sugar or DSL? Thx!

A good narration could improve the quality of this video. If compare the current one with "Windows on OLPC", the former one wins :(
Does it have any usb ports, or any ports that i could use? I may have to get one of those.

It has three USB ports -- they are on the sides of the screen, covered with antennas when the laptop is closed.
