The full Sit-up was the second event of the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) under Field Manual (FM) 21-20. This exercise has been replaced as of June 2011, but remains in use until all commands have implemented the new Army Physical Readiness Test (APRT) and the Army Combat Readiness Test (ACRT) under Training Circular (TC) 3-22.20. Until replaced with the new event, use this fitness video to better understand the rules, breathing techniques, and overall strategies to achieve best results. HOOAH!

  • Hello, AJ here from Ohio!

I am having trouble keeping my feet on the ground when I try to come up and I have no one to hold my feet.

Do you have any recommendations on how to keep my feet on the ground but still be able to complete a full repetition?

    Thank you!
