Here I am comparing three very affordable ukuleles.

1.) Hora Soprano
2.) Platinum S-Edition by Schaepe
3.) Brueko No.6

The tunes are:
- Rujero (Gaspar Sanz)
- Aura Lee
- Child in a Manger

Strings are the same on all ukes: Brown Worth.

All ukes were recorded with exact the same settings -- the difference in volume is original.

  • The Rujero sounded wonderful on alll of them.wondeful transcription.

  • Thank you :)

  • I noticed before, Schaepe is very well fit with you and your style music . Brueko is I thnk generally fine. I also suprised about Hora looks bit uncomfortable.

  • Yes. And indeed the fretboard of the Hora is a bit on the narrow side, but it works well enough.

  • Bravo! Thank you for your review. I think you could make any ukulele sound wonderful. I like the Hora and the Brueko the most

  • nice sweater

  • Indeed. The Brueko is by far the most "expensive" of them too :) -- though it's still affordable. I can really recommend it, it's my most-played uke... I'm taking it with me very often (bicycling and the like), it's very sturdy and survived some crashes already :)

  • Yes, and the Brueko (as the other two) sounds really nice in your hands. Each ukulele does have differences in their tonal projection...the first towards the treble (making it sound a little thin) the second more towards the bass (making it sound a little muddy by comparison) and the Brueko seems to have a good balance between the first two. Thanks for the presentation.

  • Thanks Dominique. Indeed they all have their specific strengths.

  • Thay hav e all qualities. The second is very melodious and good for old music, I think! The first one seems to be sure in tune. The third has a strong sound.
