Jackie helped set a world record over the weekend by participating in a 500-on-500 deathmatch.

Was it the fragfest of her dreams?! WELL, WAS IT?!

  • Get Jackie on a real episode! Love seeing her on the show (this being her third time), but when is she gonna challenge your review?

  • @TrentR42 Very soon, sir. Very soon.

  • Shouldn't WoW have more?

I know it's not an FPS, but does it really matter...

  • @KillstealingPrick Different games require different kinds of technology - shooters are hard/expensive to scale because of how crippling even the slightest lag can have on the experience. MMOs are intense, too, but there's a bit more wiggle room for lag, plus instancing helps balance out the more intense areas in most games.

  • It sounded fairly unstable. How would it handle a 'real' game, which would be far more straining on the server? And still loving the show man, any news on more Syndicate previews/reviews?

  • @DanielBoa I thiiiiiink we've got something coming today, but I have to double-check.

As far as handling a more intense game…. eeeeehhhhh, not on the amount of hardware they had. I think the real point of this thing was to show their server technology can do a lot with a little, and then let actual developers buy it and scale it from there.

  • @KillstealingPrick WoW uses a lot of different servers when you zone into different zones you are on a different server. Blizzard made seamless zoning so you don't notice the server changes

  • friend showed me this vid, loved it, and looking forward to more

  • @newchallenger Going on the technology side of things, would this type of server technology be used for MMOs in the future to reduce the lag? I know that this server is meant to increase the amount of players from a 6V6 in Battlefield to say, 10V10 or even 15V15 and have the same amount of lag as now, but I would like to see PvP in MMOs grow as well.

  • DId anyone else notice Max Scoville in the corner.

  • Jackie, your the cutest chick on ze internet.

  • for such a basic game I'm surprized they couldn't do more then 500

In todays tech world I would think atleast 10,000 would be easy to do.

counter strike did 64 player shooter a long long time ago and that game has crazy graphics

  • Team Jackie or team Tara?

  • @zab666 yeah, she's dying

  • @jackierulesall It's why I like winter. Scarves are one of the few ways men can accessorize without resorting to obnoxious jewelry.

  • not only is Maax in the background....you can see Tera coughing madly in the background at 2:40 :-)
