Stay at home: Americans tired of foreign affairs?

A new Pew Research Center poll shows that for the first
time in four decades Americans don't want their country to intervene in problems abroad. The poll also shows that policy makers, however, still view the United States as a leader that should intervene in foreign affairs. Why is there a disconnect between the policy makers and the people? Is this an indication that the American public is viewing their country differently?
