Hardcore is not metal btw, it's derived from punk.

It has its roots in the underground punk scene of the late 70s and developed in different directions. E.g. there is the still very "punky" sound like The Exploited or the NY style with strong metal and skinhead influencies or the Bad Brains with reggae influencies or the Deez Nuts with rap elements etc. So there is not just one scene that plays the "real" hardcore. But what all have in common is that their scene/music originally was intended as a more radical and less commercial variant of punk.

I learned about this band & a lot more great hardcore from a SHARP out of St. Louis. Him & his friends taught me a lot. They helped open my eyes as a young woman. I'm in my 40's now, and I am grateful for that learning experience. It taught me to love people, to help people, to put some good in this messed up world. It's easy to talk it, but what are you doing to make the world a better place?
