How often and how much do you feed him? My boxer is fat and doesn't want to do anything.

@MrGuitarDemon She gets fed a medium sized bowl of dry food mixed with half a can of wet food twice a day. She doesn't normally finish the whole bowl in one go, she seems to leave a little and goes back to it later. I find that mixing dry and wet foods much better for her, when she's fed on one or the other her coat isn't as shiny and her energy levels are all over the place.

@MrGuitarDemon Boxers aren't merely about what you eat. Prankmaster states that with his/her boxer it needs a combination of wet & dry food. With my boxers (i have 3 of the same litter, all bitches) They only ever get dry food, yet they have no problem running around all day every day. I think you should also consider the different ways you 'motivate' your boxer, remember despite being of a mature age, a boxer can still be VERY childish at heart.

@Voltaire152 So true, i've seen 11 year old boxers bouncing round the local park with just as much "boing" as my 4 year old. Should have stated that it's only with this boxer we feed a mix of dry and wet food as it seems to work better for her, my other dogs have always been on one or the other.
