Here we have a shot of northbound CSX L-614 heading north through Auburn, Al. The train kicked off the defect detector seen just before the train crosses the closest crossing to the camera. The crew said the issue was on the 91st axle on the west rail (the side closest to the camera). They stopped the train for close to an hour before continuing north, apparently not finding anything wrong. About 30 miles north of here the train kicked off the next DD. Needless to say, the dispatcher told A-746 (the local following this train) that there would be a car set off at West Point siding that they need to keep an eye out for.

Enjoy!

PS: Yes it was that hot this day.

  • Is that Union Pacific?

  • The lead locomotive is a Union Pacific but the kine the train is running on is CSX.

  • Greg, you are a one of a kind railfan bro!

Youre shots are amazing, and you continue to come up with new angles, man georgia is a great railfan area to set up in different locations. You should make a DVD, and Id totally buy it!

  • Thanks man, though it's Alabama, not Georgia that my stomping grounds are at.

As for the DVD, I made one for one of the older fellow railfan that are are around this area. It's a DVD of nothing but the CSX/ A&WP Sub shots I've made, nothing fancy. Contact me off line and I'd be glad to send you one. I made a few extra copies.

  • i dont no how you do it but once again best quality vid right here!!

  • Thanks.

  • 2 thumbs up nice video

  • Alternative schedule of Q614.

  • Could someone explain what the L means? Like normally it would be Q-614, what would cause any CSX train to be labeled L? Thanks!

  • Thanks.
