ENGLISH LANGUAGE: This video filmed 24 Aug 2009, on the day the Georgia DNR returned 110 of the 524 turtles they illegally confiscated over 4 years ago on 21 July 2005. They've only returned these as a result of all the various pending lawsuits. What they did was absolutely tragic but that issue will be covered in other videos. This video is about shell rot. I'll use this tragic situation to teach all turtle keepers, zoos, and veterinarians, how to remove and treat shell rot, a bacterial infection that eats the bones of the turtle shell. It is a lethal infection but caught in the early to middle stages the turtle can be saved if it is otherwise healthy.

  • @Delticola how does that happen

  • @9800eddie1 In this case the government took my turtle collection and threw the live turtles in some concrete containers which scratched their shells to the point that they became infected.

  • Aww can't you afford a better way to cure it? That's gotta frickin hurt :(

  • @katlova4427 You must have had your sound turned down. The government killed 365 turtles and returned 128 sick and dieing turtles to me on the day of this video. There's nothing to afford, there's no veterinarian in the nation with any more skills, abilities or equipment to do any better. It's not about affording a better treatment, there is not a better treatment.

  • I mean no insult but maybe you should simplify your title, people tend to narrow out the words "kills" and "turtles".

  • @Only4MyselfxO Yes, you are right, that seems to be the problem. But mainly it's a problem with people that don't have English as their native spoken language and it's a problem when people don't read and listen. This video is the effect of the cause. The cause was the Georgia DNR and this video is the effect of their action, a destroyed animal poorly cared for by the government, the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources.
