Biting at the tail is a SIGN OF AGGRESSION and the newts should be separately housed. Paddle tail newts need 10 gallons of space per newt, also need a minimum of one hiding place per newt. Also, you should NEVER feed newts at the same time. Its actually recommended that you separate them at feeding time so THEY DON'T KILL EACH OTHER.. Do some research. This ain't cool.
