I just thought I'd share this. God it's loud... Only running with one PSU, so it can only get worse...

  • Wow.

  • @DCDUO Yep, I was not expecting that. I'll post another video with the second PSU plugged in when I go back to work on Monday (I finally got the power cables I need). TBH it not much quieter and I'm wondering how loud was the data centre when they had the 40 (we have in stock) all running.

  • @sn8f1st That's impressive. So what is this exactly? I just happened to come accross the video. I can't get over that airflow.

  • @DCDUO It's an IBM BladeCentre H enclosure. The video is of the back, in the front there is space for 14 HS21 servers. It allows you to consolidate a large number of servers into a smaller chassis. The air flow is needed to keep the 14 servers cool but I was expecting the fans to work dynamically and adjust their speed depending on the requirements, like the HP C7000 equivalent, but I was surprised.

  • @sn8f1st Aaah right, I see :P That's pretty cool, I'm sure you'll work out a way of fixing it up.
