First Student Busses in Newport RI

This company hires the worst drivers in the state of Rhode Island. How many taxpayer dollars are spent for this bus to go in, hang out for at least a half hour, and exit the lot. Why are they not taking children just to and from school?

I have to agree they are a awful company however are you a dumbass? do you realize " stalking" any school dept vehicle as such is a felony? First Student ( private company ) owns the vehicle NOT the school dept the school dept rents them for the number of contracted hours needed to transport students only " idle" time is not paid thus why the driver stopped to prob pick up lunch or items I would have to say you need a wake up maybe a state trooper at your door

Could you imagine some nutcase that could easily enter this wide open bus and plant a bomb somewhere? If you think I'm kidding just look at the recent cases in Portland, OR and Tuscon, AZ. This driver and this company in general have no concern for our children's safety.

This company has also had their busses enter Newport Grand (yes, the casino) , at 4 pm on a Friday. I guess the students were on a field trip. This is the same company that wants a huge contract concerning the new Pell School in Newport.

You are an idiot. The school dept pays a contracted price to the lowest bidder. In this case First Student. The price is set. How much it cost the company to actually complete the task does not matter and is not your tax dollars. BTW. There is a GPS system in all of these buses that is connected with payroll. When the bus is shut down more than 5 minutes, YOUR OFF THE CLOCK. If there is a 15 min time gap between routes what do you expect the driver to do?

Dear Sir i work for First Student. The policy says if you go off route you radio it in to the dispatcher. If the store is on the same route between the school and the bus yard then they can stop.
