CANAJOHARIE, N.Y. - A capital region company is adding jobs despite the sour economy.
For Richardson Brands in Canajoharie success is spelled c-a-n-d-y. Since the recession hit the company says the demand for its candy line has gone up and its production lines are running flat out.
With increased productions and revenues, the company recently purchased several other candy companies in the United States, transferring their production to Canajoharie.
The company added 70 new jobs this year and its workforce is up to 215 and growing.
