Keith talks about the Rolling Stones and the Beatles as contemporaries... the Rolling Stones arriving in America in the 60's... their impressions of America in the late 60's... Black culture and black music's influence on the Stones... the war in Vietnam...
@andy65guitar true and also remembering the brits came over to america surprised and dumbfounded to see how little interest there seemed to be in these black artists that they had hero worshipped back in britain. not sure if i've even come close to adding anything here lol.
@TengwarElectron The Stones hired The Angels at the advice of Gerry Garcia!! He said to them they are going to come anyway so The Stones went for it naively thinking that the British Angels and The American gang were of the same temperament. They were wrong of course but it was not ALL their fault!!.
The "Unkillable One" didn't quite correctly explain why they didn't have "contact with the problems that American Blacks usually had with white people". It was because when the British Invasion arrived in America, they thought to themselves... "ooh, this is where our Blues heroes live". Therefor, one can see why they didnt have problems
Yea that was a brilliant idea...when you need a group of men to control the crowd by keeping them from doing bad things...assign people named "The Hells Angels"
