SUKI SMALL-SCALE RICE HUSK GASIFIER PLANT

designed by: Engr. Alexis Belonio Ms, PSAE

From the evolution of the Belonio Rice husk gas stove comes the application of rice husk waste converted to electricity..

Introducing the latest development in the field of rice husk gasification by converting rice husk into a clean gas to produce heat, mechanical and electrical power.

Now we can customize the design of rice husk gasifier plant on job-to-order basis, ranging from 10 to 100 kWe using surplus spark-ignition or imported gas engine

The Suki gasifier plant technology is a combination of the CRHET moving-bed downdraft reactor and the improved design of gas conditioning devices. This gasifier plant can provide clean gaseous fuel that is suitable for use in rice milling operation as well as in crop irrigation.

Advantage features:

(1) It make use of available waste in the rural areas to fuel engines that usually drive generator

(2) Tar problem in conventional rice husk gasifier system is already eliminated

(3) Continuous operation without the need of restarting the reactor

(4) Adoptable to surplus spark ignition engine that is readily available in the local market

(5) Technology is locally produced making use of the available resources and skills in the fabrication, a Filipino Technology

(6) Can be scale up to meet the required power demand

(7) Investment and operation cost are at the reach of the local people

Applications:

• Power supply for irrigation pump, rice mill, and other farmstead equipment.

• Barangay electrification for residential, community hall, and street lighting, including micro business enterprises, etc.

Other remarks

With proper operation and maintenance, it can last even for a minimum period of 5 years. It can be recovered within a year when operated at 8 hours per day, and 365 days per year.

Larger scale model of the gasifier plant to utilize even city garbage is now on the development platform of GIFO Project to help solve eliminate the problem of garbage disposal while providing a solution to the problem of both energy and the environment.
