It's a non issue really concerning the small amount of real estate vertically, just do whatever fit your preferences ... I just so used to having my dock at the bottom
-
LOL Ubuntu!
-
@phototristan oh! silly me! I'm accoustumed at using the dock exclusively as a launcher and having the windows showing in the taskbar as little icons that I forgot you guys use it as an all-in-one thing
-
up is the way to go, just use firefox and have the tabs not on the top if using firefox 4 and make it so it pops up when you move your cursor to the top
-
you can hide the dock can't you
-
@phototristan Well, that's preference. I've kept the dock at the bottom since 10.0, and old habits die hard, I suppose.

can't you autohide the dock? I'm just asking, I don't use MacOSX, I use various linux distros and pretty much every dock here has an autohide option, so i guess it's an option in the macos dock?

@marco7centurion Of course you can but that's not as useful since you cannot see what is currently running as easily with it hidden.

It's much more efficient, both when using a trackpad or mouse, to move down than extend your arm to the right (or left). It's more logical and accessible.

@chinchilla2302 Disagree. It's way easier to move to the right or left then to move down.
