After Effects - Explosion *IMPROVED*

slightly more time spent on it..still not satisfactory...
please give me some tips and comments.

Ok guys seem like he is not making a tutorial for you guys. But here is my breakdown of this effect. You need: photoshop(still frame the footage to PS. cut matte the window into one layer, the the wooden part and the glass part of window into another layer2,3.) export 3 layers back to AE. use shatter preset to explode layer2 n 3 of the window as desire. 3d layer1(window outline) and place video copilot action explosion behind the window matte so explosing look like it is from inside window.

No, the explosion look interesting. don't get me wrong. I just happen to look over your stuff. So many peoples wanted to learn it. I'm not assuming you are using copilot. Not many peoples know how to create explosion using particle or 3d. The quickest way for them is to use preset. If you are careful enought you can have just as good effect. I read the common above, you said let make it a team efford. But you are so reluctant to help others learn how to creat it.

I see what you mean. Though you can't accuse me of being reluctant on helping others, for Youtube is not a priority in my life, I hope it's not yours either or no one's at that, so I wouldn't be too worried if people don't get much help.. after all.. they still got copilot! ;-)

@d00deth i wouldn't say that, the exceptionally good physics applied to the debris made it look very good actually. It's not perfect but it's very good. Would have liked to see footage though.

u wonder why its still not satisfying? Try to do more stuff with ur composition instead of ur explosion, the explosion looks fine, theres just no action in the camera work at all.. try and add a wiggle or sumt.. make the camera fall down, wahtever.. an explosion on a picture/tripod never looks real cause we expect impact.. here we dont see impact..

I like the way the window explodes, but it is fake looking and the quality doesn't match that of the picture.
