He counteracts the rod direction so that hes pulling the hook into the fish rather than out of the fish this is a must. also he uses alot of side strain another mistake people make is holding the rod 90 degress to the water no matter what you are fishing for fish do not like to be pulled up the way encorages jumping and horrible surface splashing. if your dropping alot of fish watch this guy counteract the fishes every move so that you are pulling into the fish set that hook not remove it
