"The crimes were atrocious but were largely due to one man. "
That is a crazy notion! Hitler was far from the only evil, demented person - Himmler, Heydrich, and many, many others at every level were at least as warped - or this would've never happened. There was a convergence of multi-faceted evil in human form at precisely the right (or wrong if you like) moment in history. And your advocating Nazism to control what you perceive as a problem is both offensive and disgusting! Shame on you!

It looks like a nice little town as do many of the places you visit. I saw a muslim head stone, thats interesting.

From what I have read, the relatives were not complicit. They were told that their loved ones died of natural causes. I will stand to be corrected if anyone has authoritative evidence to the contrary.

You wonder if the relations of those with disabilities killed were complicit, or didn't know or could do nothing about it?
The most chilling thing is the town would have functioned as normally back then as it does now with maybe only rumours going round about what was happening.
Thats why the Allies made local townspeople clear up some of the concentration camps so they could never say we didnt know what was going on or if they did they know could witness the consequences.

I love germany brilliant cars/people/countryside etc But its still hard to believe this happened and not very long ago too, terrible chilling almost to think that this was even allowed to take place and not very long ago really To what extent does anyonethink this made any difference? does german not have as large an extent of people with mental disabilies as say we do in Britian or its neighbouring countries as a per centage! crazy
A great book on this subject is "The Nazi Doctors" by Jay Lifton. A very scholarly piece of work with much details of the T-4 programs.
