Jesus and Mary Magdalene: Did they have a secret marriage?

Has history been wrong for 2000 years---was there a Mrs. Jesus Christ? In, The Jesus Family Tomb, (The Discovery Channels TV documentary) director Simcha Jacobovici claims there is evidence that Jesus and Mary Magdalene indeed were married and had a son named Judah.

Jacobovici is not the first to postulate a possible romantic relationship between Jesus and Mary. The movie, The Last Temptation of Christ, and books such as Holy Blood, Holy Grail, and The Da Vinci Code, made a secret relationship between Jesus and Mary central to their themes.

The Da Vinci Code begins with a page of facts that makes the fictional novel appear to be true in all its assertions. The book has broken all records on the New York Times best-sellers list, and has been followed by a blockbuster movie. Author Dan Browns clever weaving of fact with fiction has convinced many readers that Jesus and Mary Magdalene really were married and had a child (See Mona Lisas Smirk). But is this romantic assertion just hype to sell books and movies, or is it supported by historical evidence?

@bass109 Mary MAGDALENE was NOT Jesus' Mother. There was two (important) Marys in the bible, The Virgin Mary (the immaculate Mary, blessed by God to give birth to the Jesus) and then there was Mary Magdalene, a former Prostitute and loyal follower of Jesus.

What I think is this, I know why I was fueled I just had major surgery, on many med's but all of us should stop trying to fight among ourselves and realize there was a big cover up! Jesus wasnt married to Mary Mag and he knew he had 2 wait a long time for GOD to give him with a wife, as with Adam, Moses, David & even Joseph his step daddy. Jesus said to his mother at the wedding in Cana where he performed his 1st miracle "It was not Yet my time". God figured out a way 4 the only begotten Son & Daughter Satan to live happily forever after the fall. @spiritkitten There may be a third "important" Mary, Mary of Bethany. However, it's possible that Mary of Bethany is another name for Mary Magdalene. It appears that opinions are split on the question.

Actually there were many Mary's!!! Remember Martha, Mary and Lazarus? I am sorry for taking it so personally everyone. I am sure Jesus is looking down on all of us frowning for fighting!, of course history gets covered up. "Their are too many cooks in the kitchen"! I was just taken off morphine,(memory blocks) To MatrixFactoryGuy;it is claimed that Mary Magdalene was pregnant at the crucifixtion and fled to France and bore a baby girl named Sara. The Priory of Sion also hid the identity of Mary Magdalene for saving the bloodline of Jesus's family, there were more involved then just the Church, huge conspiracy.

@spiritkitten O.K. I understand now, I am sorry! I have had alot of hard times growing up, Jesus and God have always been there for me and I am very protective of Jesus especially! I just had major surgery, I take 28 pills a day. I made a human mistake, I just realized your first comment, I never read so we are on the same page. I have followed alot of history and even the dead sea scrolls were just advertised missing parts found. I should of been a Biblical Archaeologists, I see my mistakes! GB
