I know the quality is meh since I don't have access to a studio during the summer... but I tried my best.

I watch the sunbeams, follow as they scatter through the windowpane/ jogging down memory lane, as I hear the neighbors engage along the sidewalk with smiles all around, a short time found before they head off to the cage/ a cubicle, a desk, a boss that ridicules, a test/ they try their best to impress/ yet another nine to five another regular day of stress/ for the family they gotta get paid/ getting by barely making little above minimum wage but this is not the future they wrote down on a page/ Is that a problem indeed? or are we set up to measure in time our happiness with digits in a dollar sign/ That's funny, what does it truly mean to succeed? Why does money take center stage stealing the lead over other beautiful sights, cold hearts turning zero degrees/ stuck in blindness by the master unseen, wanting to live out a favorite movie scene with that foolish belief, now that's failing indeed so better believe/ realize that currency is a figure, a paper, formidable player to corrupt the mind in disorder, a layer, so go ahead and dance if you dare don't just sit if you're scared go ahead and prepare/ we are programmed to hold hands with the devil in sight/ so stand on firm grounds and better stop that devil in flight/ married to the wrong game how many suffer and die, I'm sketching out my wings so I can pack up and fly, a rebel with a cause not a mere product of lies, waiting for a better day

Trust is such an elusive force to comprehend with just one slip the whole thing comes to an end/ The promise blurred no name-calling but the nature of it all, is intended for the weak to fall, so I speak, strong hearts they go on to prevail/ mark the promise of my word there is no greater reward, than to gain the respect of the closest ones, that should be the composure at the core please understand/ resiliency serving as a double edged sword, in the community, the streets, against the crooked cops minds filthy as they pull out the glocks finger on the trigger as they heat up the block then I ponder and it really makes me wonder the point of it all/ was it the color of his skin was it the nature of his being? I guess we'll never know, just another resting in peace, rest in power to the soul that struggled to live amongst a system of contradictions which people believe, equality it reads in doctrine at least, except reality is flipped one hundred eighty degrees, where the rich get richer and the poor in the streets, protesting and looting but the president chokes, after spending a fortune trying to bring us this hope, he's seen on tv cheering for some sporting events, forget about the change it's not him who's broke/ ivy league educated man he's never been broke/ never at the cliff never had to climb up no rope/ people can't afford decent homes, stacking massive loans, in the midst of this crossfire, shouting for freedom song, caught in a barbwire, some call it hell, I call it modern day apartheid, quite a story to tell, from the prison cells to black soldiers enlisted in hell, fortune 500 CEO's hushing their ways at the top/ to the industries removing our moms and pops stores/ good morning to America the land of the free, health care is a commodity so either buy it or leave (damn)
