GIVE UP

definately the tps. make sure you get a bwd tps, the one autozone gets is garbage. The jeep will start if you put it to the floor and initiate the "clean start" mode... rather than roasting your starter motor.

fuel pump dude mine did the same thing

ok my 1993 cherokee did the same exact thing, had no power darting out, barely press the gas and it stalls... when it stalls does same exact thing yours does... replace the tps like i did... 100% difference
-

Pumping the petal wont do squat cold or flooded i never said any thing about pumping it. Flooring and pumping is two total different things dont even try to say you know what your talking about cause you dont . Your petal was in reverse? Umm ok? Yeah your mechanic pulled a fast one on you i guess anybody will beleave any thing if it sounds technical enough to go over there head cause they have no idea about what there being told they must of seen you coming from a mile away. Duhh

Duhh if it is flooded. But just pumping the pedal will do nothing on a cold start.
-
Actually if it gets flooded from extended cranking you can floor the gas pedal and the tps will sense wide open throttle and go to flood clear mode during cranking thus killing the injector pulse width allowing the engine to get rid of the excess fuel.

These engines can be quite a problem to start when they are warm ,just as an Volvo 2-940 will be . But these engines wil run forever but they can be hard to start sometimes .

This happened to me the mechanic said my pedal actually was in reverse it was a problem with the computer. BTW your jeep is fuel injection so pumping the gas pedal while starting does nothing.
It was the temp sensors. Theres 2 so make sure to replace both
