waited to hear the first sign of stumble and turned camera back on. You hear the rpms and I'm not even close to the jeep. It starts to stumble and I show the meter unchanged. Then I jump in and wait for more stumble, but idles evenly now. I then show the pedal and rpms at the same time. Now when I touch the pedal to give it a little rev, it stumbles and dies. I attempt to crank it showing the gas pedal and rpms same time(you can even hear the pump kick on). Notice how it acts like it wants to crank only when I push on the pedal.(remember this is fuel injection)

  • It was the temp sensors. Theres 2 so make sure to replace both

  • you saw "jeep after cool down" right?

  • thanks for the tip on clean start mode. Advanced auto always gives me the bwd parts=)

  • definately the tps. make sure you get a bwd tps, the one autozone gets is garbage. The jeep will start if you put it to the floor and initiate the "clean start" mode... rather than roasting your starter motor.

  • fuel pump dude mine did the same thing

  • ok my 1993 cherokee did the same exact thing, had no power darting out, barely press the gas and it stalls... when it stalls does same exact thing yours does... replace the tps like i did... 100% difference

  • my 96 cherokee country is doing the exact same thing. im told its the tps. Was that your problem?

  • Ohhh Sh....t What a Shame Men!! Bring it to my house I we repair it!! I hace 2 Jeeps =D The Best Ones In The World!! Jeje

  • Pumping the petal wont do squat cold or flooded i never said any thing about pumping it. Flooring and pumping is two total different things dont even try to say you know what your talking about cause you dont . Your petal was in reverse? Umm ok? Yeah your mechanic pulled a fast one on you i guess anybody will beleave any thing if it sounds technical enough to go over there head cause they have no idea about what there being told they must of seen you coming from a mile away. Duhh

  • Duhh if it is flooded. But just pumping the pedal will do nothing on a cold start.

  • Actually if it gets flooded from extended cranking you can floor the gas pedal and the tps will sense wide open throttle and go to flood clear mode during cranking thus killing the injector pulse width allowing the engine to get rid of the excess fuel.

  • These engines can be quite a problem to start when they are warm ,just as an Volvo 2-940 will be . But these engines wil run forever but they can be hard to start sometimes .

  • This happened to me the mechanic said my pedal actually was in reverse it was a problem with the computer. BTW your jeep is fuel injection so pumping the gas pedal while starting does nothing.
