@Rendarg There were SO many problems with those episodes in general; I feel that the writers really didn't know what they were doing when they wrote them. Even Hideaki Anno thought they were awful. While it IS important for Jean & Nadia's friendship to turn romantic, I personally think they should have treated it as a genuine moment, not a buildup to a nasty reset pressing moment.

@Rendarg and btw, did you also wonder why in the world she tried to open tin cans with a freaking rock, right after Jean showed her on the nautilus how the blue water can even cut through metal armor o.O

@Turnajon And those bad animations, i was really suprised when i first noticed it, the first minute i thought my video file was corrupt, they moved like they had 3 frames per second, but then i was like "ah... ok... so studio gainax ran out of money again..."
Totally agree with you on lincoln island arc being just one episode, would have been enough. There was definitly a need of a situation for J & N being on their own again, but the realization was indeed disappointing.

@Turnajon oh haha yes the pointless dream sequence, i first thought "oh... great... he ate the mushrooms... again! o.O" but then it went on and on and on, half of the episode i think, to the point i allmost thought they take this for real, which would have taken every bit of seriousness away, and then they finally end it, pointless 10 minutes, great.

(continued) In short, the Lincoln Island arc really should have been chopped down to at least one episode, because it not only dragged too long, it didn't feel like genuine advancement, but more like character derailment. Instead of having Nadia get stupid (I'm not talking about her "living with nature"), they could have just had her explaining her past to J & M, and then have the kiss without any mushrooms or dreams or tantrums involved. That would have made it so much better IMO.

@Rendarg And what I meant by poorly is that I feel that neither Jean nor Nadia nor even Marie were acting like themselves. The whole setup felt very rushed and even offensive, not only in having hallucinogetic mushrooms and stupidity on Nadia's part being the cause, but for immediately pressing reset after the kiss. It felt like a very cruel tease instead of a genuine development on the writers' part. (continued)

@Rendarg The biggest problem I had with the whole Lincoln Island arc was that it felt very out of character and more like a case of random plotting. Yes, I agree that the point of that may have been for Nadia to come out of her shell and acknowledge her feelings for Jean instead of surviving on natural instinct, but too many pointless moments: the dream sequence and King's antics plus the bad animation killed it for me. Plus the handling of said development was handled very poorly IMO.

@Turnajon If they cut the first island stuff with jean and nadia coming closer and of course the kiss scene, then thats a bad decision. I agree most of the island episodes were boring and too long, but this certain development between nadia and jean should have been left in. Wasnt that what we were all waiting for? "kiss her already, damn frenchman" ^^
Thanks for the upload, I was never aware of these "Omakes."
Yay more Nadia! :)
