  • These are the roots of rythm. Such a moving song.

  • grande Paul e grande Miriam viva la musica .........oltre le razze

  • @oKangwane Thanks for bothering to answer this. Those lyrics are so touching - she shows that to give a child wings to fly through harmony as exquisitely as she does, gives to the listening world around her, the most priceless gift. For a moment, she creates an aura that I wish could be harnessed to create more peace in the world.

  • @ImperialistRunningDo She is SInging in ZUlu

  • @brummieInAmerica It's township of Mofolo. A township in Soweto, South Africa. But you are right in the album it says tuscon, arizona. I guess when they were touring Africa they just thought it would be better to put Mofolo.

  • @ckovertime It's July 1989, on the Graceland Tour.

  • @brummieInAmerica the other live version also has the lyric: around my grandmother's door instead of my nursery door :)

  • I have seen another version on YouTube performed in an outside stadium in Africa. I was sure I had heard Miriam Makeba sing: "I said take this child, lord/From the township of Marpolo (sic)/" But the original lyrics actually say take the child from tucson, arizona. I haven't listened to THIS version yet, but it will be interesting to hear if she adapts the lyrics to reflect this location too.

  • Miria Makeba vc sempre será sinônimo de vitória, sua voz inspira felicidade e me completa de pura alegria.É muito bom ouvir sua música e refletir sobre a vida e seus conflitos.Eterna guerreira!!!

  • What language is she singing in? Zulu? Xhosa? Swazi? I can't tell.
