MainMan also financed the off off Broadway production "Wayne County At The Trucks" which had the singer out front with the band to the side and scenery and costume changes between songs: clearly, this format was studied and used for the subsequent "Diamond Dogs" tour; many of us feel that County was used as the off camera proto type

no one ever said they SOUND alike;
after Bowie's Mainman company signed Wayne County as an artist they started taking song demos from Miss County for an album which never saw the light of day,but Bowie, very eager to reflect "the street vibe",picked up on County's celebration of the trans/are you a boy or are you a girl approach, something that never appeared in Bowie songs prior to the signing of County;
