Do the Right Thing is a 1989 American dramedy produced, written, and directed by Spike Lee, who is also a featured actor in the film. Other members of the cast include Danny Aiello, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Richard Edson, Giancarlo Esposito, Bill Nunn, and John Turturro. It is also notably the feature film debut of Martin Lawrence and Rosie Perez. The movie tells the story of a neighborhood's simmering racial tension, which comes to a head and culminates in tragedy on the hottest day of the summer.

The film was a commercial success and received numerous accolades and awards, including an Academy Award nomination for Lee for Best Original Screenplay and one for Best Supporting Actor for Aiello's portrayal of Sal the pizzeria owner. It is commonly listed among the greatest films of all time.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] In 1999, it was deemed to be "culturally significant" by the U.S. Library of Congress, and was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry, one of just five films to have this honor in their first year of eligibility.

I love spike lee films he tells the truth and he's honest about race there is a lot of stereotypes of every race but the truth is lots of these races act like this I'm not saying every race are a stereotype but some are because I grew up around people like this and they might not have act this way but they do the same things like in this movie I love spike lee and I don't think he's a racist he's just telling the truth and people don't want to admit it every race
