An original painting was created by Robert Lyn Nelson at the request of Jean-Michel Cousteau to commemorate the 100th birthday of his father.
The famous ocean explorer and his work has been an inspiration to many on an international level. His numerous films and books have brought the undersea world into our homes. This painting titled, "Ocean Legend" is RLN's surrealistic view of Cousteau's adventurous travels throughout the world.
The unveiling will take place at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC on the evening of June 8, 2010. The Cousteau family will join RLN in the unveiling of his painting on stage before awards dinner attendees representing more than 500 members of the U.S. oceans community. The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation (NMSF), is hosting this event to celebrate the centennial birthday of Captain Cousteau as well as to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
Soon after the unveiling, a virtual viewing of "Ocean Legend" will be available.
Please stay tuned......
