TEXT:
Lament: Impossible Life
ASAKAIR: Everything is easy to bear except this disgrace. After it, life becomes impossible. How am I to live in the village when the people know that I have such a son? Every one will spit in disgust at the mere mention of his name. Would that he really died as a child in the water well... From every side voices will be raised saying what a failure of a belly could bring forth such a son? Yes, this belly! All the women of the village will scoff at it... even the barren, the deformed, and the dull-witted. This belly! This belly!
