there aren't any home raised ones. besides they only become sluggish and die because people have no clue how to care for them. most hermit crabs in the us come from the carribean though.

the wild land hermit crabs are faster than the home raised ones.

ya it is where stores get them, unlike puppy dogs and kitty kats hermit crabs are taken from the wild and sold to pet stores.

Well, I didn't mean to, but I collected a few shells and I found that one had a crab in it when I got home. This was in Thailand.
