Part 3 -
Flight of the Phoenix: The Jefferson Starship Story is a documentary I produced as part of a class in grad school a couple of years ago. As this was an educational assignment I borrowed heavily from the official Jefferson Airplane biopic DVD as well as many bits and pieces I could find on YouTube and Google. I apologize to anyone whos intellectual property I used for this educational purpose. I did fess up in class as to stealing pretty much the whole thing.
I also played fast and loose with the facts, figuring no one in my class would old enough to know the difference, and left in various obvious errors including the misspelling of Jack Casadys name as well as the mispronunciation of Kaukonens and Bears.
Its a bit long with 4 parts. I could have trimmed it down to less than half the running time, as the included performances are all (still, I think) available on YouTube, but hey, in for a dime, in for a dollar.
Please enjoy my posting on YouTube.

I personally like the 'tongue-in-cheek' narration. It's a refreshing break from the excrementally objective narrators who attempt to cover rock and roll like it's a biography of Harry Truman. The Hot Tuna footage is particularly appealing.
