This is a speech from Shakespeare's Henry IV at the end of Act 1 Scene 2 'I know you all...' in which the young prince decides to be a rogue and a scoundrel until the time comes for him to ascend the throne.

We shot on the Panasonic GH2 mostly handheld and with available light and a Sennheiser wireless G2 mic. Our main lens was a 50mm Nikon f1.8 using a Nikon to Micro 4 3 adapter. The only other lens we used was the Panasonic 20mm pancake f1.7.

  • Thanks for posting this. I was excited that it was a decent recording of the Shakespeare monologue but then I realized you guys were Aussies!!! So, from a fellow Aussie (living in the USA), thanks! Are you planning to record some more Shakespeare?

  • @SpeakMeASpeech Hey thanks for the comment. Yeah - we will be recording more in time - but we've been side tracked by other things like work! Do you do Shakespeare there? Is that why you're looking for monologues?

  • brilliant!

  • @BananaManaFilms Yes, I have become rather obsessed with Shakespeare & the arc of history he covers in his plays... I have done some investigating of the sonnets along with various soliloquies etc & have been working with a classically trained actor. I have some work posted on my channel. Hope to see more Shakespeare from you guys! Have fun!
