You must know something about monkeys: Excepting some central america apes (I.E. capuchin), every other kind of these animals considers that facing them continuously, is an offence or a danger. They are only interested by what they could get from you (given or stolen), but not by 'frienship".
Believe me, I've got some experience during years in countries with wild monkeys.

He just wanted to see from the other side of the camera. He didn't know how to ask. Excuse all of the experts on Youtube.

He looked all along like he was saying 'You want some, ah leave it, you want some or what , ah leave it, you're not worth it. You do want some, come on then lets 'ave it then.' in monkey language.

@ncom06 hi - thank you for your comment - however, did you fully read my comments on the shot? If you did, you would have seen that I stated that when you are filming and concentrating on looking thorugh the viewfinder of a camera - and I mean the traditional type of pro camera where the camera operator has one eye up to an enclosed screen, and not the now familiar swing out types where you are also able to observe the surroundings you are in, you do not always see things as you do directly.
I had a similar thing with a Rhesus Macaque in India. Having seen the Indian guy I was chatting to shit himself when he saw the hairy bugger on his table I thought I'd Macho it out. I feigned towards the fucker expecting it to do one but he called my bluff. Were it not for a chair that I somehow managed to grab and deflect the fucker I reckon he might have had me off the balcony. Lesson learnt.

Dumbass . . . that monkey was threatening you, loud and clear, the entire time before he attacked you. You deserve way worse than what you got.

@ncom06 There are documented cases of cameramen filming events such as car rallys, war situations etc where they were not fully aware of the dangers.
I see you do not as yet have any videos on your channel, so I look forward to seeing some of your output and hope that you never are in a situation that suddenly changes without you noticing.

@infoonscubadiving So all the other videos of stupidity on Youtube excuse your stupidity?
And the situation didn't change suddenly. The monkey warned you plenty. Just a thought: if you're going to be around animals, maybe you should learn their basic behavior. Or not get in their faces. Preferrably both.

@ncom06 Sadly even the most experienced animal experts get it wrong sometimes as we all saw with a well known Australian animal expert.
I bow to your superior knowledge on these matters.
I still look forward to you contributing video content for us to see how you do.
Regards
