    @pallu83:

    You have to understand that this is unofficial development and not part of the actual project.

    Even though I do feel that the compiz project is stagnating to an extent, this is probably due to 3 reasons:

    a) We recently lost the project's leader, David Reveman who has pretty much officially given up working on compiz to work on NOMAD. This was problematic because most of the compiz code is undocumented and he never replied to any emails we send him. The two current maintainers both work full time / have university and really can't take the project in a new direction.

    b) As previously said, the two current core maintainers really don't have enough time to take the project in a good direction.

    c) Finally, we are really just relying on unofficial development by the looks of it. There are no paid developers to work on compiz anymore

    Dramatically ugly, unusable, slow, badly animated and unconsistent.

    Open source development without a serious, expert mantainers can result in chaotic grouth of the project and waste of human resources into pointless code.

    The Compiz-Fusion project is certainly the most representative example of all this.

    Compiz has reached it's peak some time ago. All the great things have been implemented. Now there will not be dramatic growth until something new comes up from Apple that others can take up.

    I can't agree, although videos like this may mislead. These animations are horrible indeed ;) But if you tweak it with style and without those tacky fireworks it does provide the BEST looking desktop out there.
