I recently made a similar white bike purchase...I did try the F800GS too, a tiger 800 and an SMT....the SMT won. I am loving the new style of bike after clip ons...

Make sure you employ the ride it hard and varied approach for the run in! You want those piston rings well seated ;)

@Kaivalaginiviti the SMT just doesn't offer the right balance for me. As for the tiger 800, IMHO it's fugly.

My 800's well broken in now, over 1500 miles on the clock
