Empathy and compassion is exactly what is needed in this world - and it can be done without being "strange", smoking weed and wearing 70's style because it is the most natural and human way of being.
Unfortunately I am pretty sure that those that grow up with facebook and all the "networks", those that believe that they have friendship or even relationships based on virtual networks, never learn how to be compassionate or empathic due to lack of real social environment.

Respond to this video...by the way, empathy does not mean "feeling sorry for others"!

@TheCommunalSolution I'm just kind of tired of all of you people who can't even give a little thumbs up to people who are spreading compassion, love, and empathy. These qualities go above and beyond the "normal" human experience of backstabbing, harming, violating, denigrating, bad-mouthing, hating, etc. -- the qualities that are our default nature. So, let's show a little kindness, compassion, and YES, EMPATHY, to those who struggle so hard to rise above them. THANK YOU, EDWIN!

It's a shame his empathy isn't occasionally focused on the people who use Facebook, and their needs and desires

People who are successful or simply comfortable in a society based upon money, property and position usually always have some sort of positive outlook. However, if we look beyond the façade, if we critically analyze the human and ecological devastation on all levels and for everyone I believe we see that when a society is based primarily on money, property and position it creates a world of pain and tragedy that no amount of successful and comfortable people feeling sorry for others will change.
