This is an excerpt from Jaco's instruction-video "Modern Electric Bass". Perfect in-the-pocket groove playing from the master. I know this clip has already been uploaded on youtube, but this is in much better quality(HD) than the one previously posted. Astounding bass solo!

@TheNegoFeio Unfortunately, this was not the bass of doom. He lost it way before, while in the Hospital. This is a Jazz bass with a retrofitted Precision fretted neck.

Good old jaco. I could play 8 days a week , 25 hours a day and never ever get anywhere near him. Im good, but I aint got genius. Bummer ! Still its nice to get inspiration. Great great upload.

That dude can take a broom stick,4 pieces of string and blast out some slick bass-lines,while others can have the best new bass on the market set-up with the best strings money can buy and taught by a Big name bassist and still smell up the place. A nice and shiny(or old/aged)bass can only take you so far untill its time to show what'cha got,then a brand-name this or that model cant help you.
