ps2 soft mod with usb harddrive

PS2 soft modded with Free McBoot and USBAdvance, best system to play backup versions of ps2 games. Saves on wear and tear on the ps2 as well. havent used my ps2 for several years, but saw FMCB on line and had to try it. Just happened to have a copy of 007: agent under fire for the install(game was lame, best use for it!!!) no tv, so cobbled up something with spare parts lying around... old lcd from a boat nav system wired to 12v bench power supply, along with audio system pulled from a wrecked car. Spent $0 on soft mod and parts. heh heh. Usb1.1 interface is a little slow though. Many thanks to the developers of Free McBoot, UlaunchELF, ESR and USBAdvance, and everyone else developing software/hacks for commercial consoles. Probably why Sony is still selling so many ps2s!!!

if you do this and change the ps2 boot up can u change it back ??

((@math8950 yeah its a softmod- as in software only - mcboot(MEMORY CARD BOOT)

to boot normal just pull out you memory card before you turn it on, you can reinsert the card after you game boots and save like normal

Wow man. I see you dont have a tv and y ou made it with parts laying around. You are good. I am a fan of re-urs. The only problem is that I dont know how to solider wires on a board. not with my limited vision.

@Sharky58 heh yeah old 12volt radar monitor from a fishing boat, composite, svideo and vga... unfortunatly broken now :( ill console my self with my psp

@Sharky58my dad use to have a flourescent light with a giant magnifying lens built in. maybe that might help?

k whats the dif in mcboot and usbadvance what are they used for why do i need them. and is it possible to put save game files onto a external hard drive edit them and putthem back

@capj4zombieglitcher usbadvance = play images stored on usbharddrive.. mcboot = gives ability to use NON-sony sanctioned software that would other wise normally be disabled or unplayable on the ps2. and yes it is possible.

@supadupaskater777 what you never seen a workshop in complete disarray following MAD PROJECTS BEFORE... try generating your own explosives out of water, making a 2 stroke motorbike, and modding 2 or 3 electrical devices in your garage in a short time space.... say 3 months while holding a 50+ work week at your job. What? you can do all that and keep yer garage clean?!? geez i'm gonna hire you!!! when can you start? NO SERIOUSLY, PLEASE, WHEN CAN YOU START!?

@superalvacado thanks for the reply. I will have to see that thing in person to ensure it works. sometimes stuff dont work for me. It must be so cool that you could use a fishing boat as a tv. Just think how you could have saved money when you could build one. awesome. I am trying to figure how to use my HDD on the PS2 as a large save memory card. still need a memory stick?
