Slavery still affects the world in many ways. This is a movie to advocate people to help.

Where is slavery?
On every continent except for Antarctica and in most US states! Most slavery occurs in South Asia ( slavery because of debt). Slavery is also in Brazil where the people are forced at gun point to cut tress down and in diamond mines. They are also used for harvesting coco beans.

What can you do?
You can boycott slave made objects (i.e. slave made chocolate and diamonds). You can also write to countries to try and free the slaves by letter.

  • Thank you all for your input... however I made this video for an eight grade social studies project, therefore inaccuracies are sure to occur.

  • This bairly scratches the surface of slavery. Arabs still keep slaves especially in Sudan, Mauritania and Niger. In Southern Sudan they still have slave raids where whole villages are wiped out and select women and children are taken north into slavery. All over the Sahara and Arabian Penninsula Arabs keep black slaves. It's not just big industry, cocoa and diamonds that enslave, but individual Arab goat and camel hearders.

  • tx for recognizing, but you have to look at the big picture. The root of slavery comes from THE idea, capitalist and THE WORLD BANK. This two things and other small factors make up the slavery. What you posted and talked about shows the consiquences of those company's action. Thank you thou for doing what you did. i would encourage you to do more research about IMF and world bank if you are interested in this field.

  • Very informative video!
