Women, War & Peace is a bold new five-part PBS series challenging the conventional wisdom that war and peace are men's domain. Spotlighting the stories of women in conflict zones from Bosnia to Afghanistan and Colombia to Liberia, it places women at the center of an urgent dialogue about conflict and security, and reframes our understanding of modern warfare.

Featuring narrators Matt Damon, Tilda Swinton, Geena Davis and Alfre Woodard, Women, War & Peace is the most comprehensive global media initiative ever mounted on the roles of women in war and peace.

Watch on your local PBS station Tuesday nights from Oct. 11 to Nov. 8. Check local listings for air times.

  • So many uneducated and ignorant CHILDREN commenting things that I don't have the time to try and fix. Open your goddamned neanderthal minds, men. A woman gave you life when they could have easily ended it. It was a woman who shoved you out of her body and housed you in it for nine months. And it would do you some good to give women some fucking respect

  • @GDuff123 yeah i know. congress is only 84% male. WATCH OUT BOYS.

sexism is a big problem for men. i mean, where can a man look to if he wants a role model and wants to be president, for example?

go to afghanistan and tell girls there how bad sexism against boys is in america. then to go the congo and tell the thousands of women who have been raped. i'm sure they'll be super sorry for you.

"the vast majority of perpetrators of all crime are men."

It's awesome when someone like you is so dumb, they're proving my point.

  • @GDuff123 uh, no. you obviously don't know a thing about sexual abuse, and you don't watch the news. the vast majority of perpetrators of all crime are men. women don't commit mass rape in the congo, or anywhere else in the world.

shut your ignorant mouth. the first amendment? what the fuck are you smoking? get the fuck off the computer, you fucking moron.

  • @karlsmith00

Actually, if you new a damned thing about sexual abuse, or watched the news, you'd see that women commit sexual abuse at an equal rate as men.

"Sexism is perpetrated by men and always will be."

    THAT is a sexist statement.

" it doesn't matter what you "support." "

Oh, good, then I don't want to hear anymore of your bullshit opinions about what you support. The 1st ammendment works both ways, sir. And i'm not confused, i'm 100% certain that you are an ignorant bigot.

  • @GDuff123 the majority of the victims are female.

and the male victims are victimized BY OTHER MALES.

sexism isn't REVERTING to men. sexism is perpetrated by men and always will be. that's why 84% of congress is male. you idiots aren't the victims, so stop your fucking whining. it doesn't matter what you "support." you're a confused bitch that needs to shut up.

  • @karlsmith00

So you ignored everything pro-female I said just to bitch? Thats downright rude.

And i'd love to tell it to the thousands of women who've been raped, because men are also raped and abused in America. I stressed that I support women, I never implied the women of the Congo and Afghanistan don't matter.

It's bad to change the subject when you're trying to tell someone off.

"i mean, where can a man look to if he wants a role model and wants to be president, for example?"

  • Women are supposed to get back in the kitchen, supposed to give me head, supposed to spread their legs and submit to being dead. Because, why? I hear this a lot and I'm sick of this shit. Women are seen as being weak and trash. Sometimes I think some men are jealous that they can't create life, seems like they just want to be God.

  • @kewppoun next time we eat african pussy

  • victimizing women again, as usual, as if they couldn't fire a weapon

  • @daniyellowjello I love women, and don't mean sexually.(well, i am a man, but..damnit im trying to be respectful.). I do believe that women deserve more recognition for what they've done, and I personally believe that women have been lied to, and do NOT have equal rights in the United States today. For instance, you can "join the military", but it's illegal for you to fight(which sucks). I am worried, however, that we may be supporting women to the point that sexism is reverting to men.
