@mrsalvinseville This ride was in 1964. A different time than now. People did not have the politically correct mindset that they have now. The main message though is the same, "World Peace".

I'm one of 'em people who actually enjoys the ride and song. Even if I wasn't able to ride this on my last trip to the park, I couldn't help but stare at the ride and thank Walt and Mary Blair. The song may be annoying to some people, but I enjoy it. One of my favorite rides~

@choosing2lookeast Because jazz started in America, they should've used African music.
-
Like if you thought of Family Guy when you viewed this.
-
@MONKEYCATCHER Jazz music does have a verifiable African American origin. I wonder why you'd have a problem with that.

. . . . . why do people always use the "it was a different time back then" excuse for racism, it's such a silly excuse it's basically like saying "it's okay to be ignorant as long as everyone else is too" They are playing fucking JAZZ music for AFRICA. JAZZZZZ MUSIC???? I'm glad they changed certain parts of the ride but come on don't excuse racism that's just sad.

I haven't been there since 2003 and I hope they still have it because I want to go back

@DanikaJadeee That is so true. I loved how the ladies dressed like ladies with their gloves and accessories.

I see nothing wrong with the African children laughing. As Walt says, children all over the world have one thing in common a love of laughter. Everyone should have a sense of humor.

@OurGangFan I totally agree. Why is it wrong to portray African children as happy. The world would be a better place if all children around the world were happy.
