I left my heart to the sappers round Khe Sanh

But the car parks made me jumpy

So I worked across the country end to end
Tried to find a place to settle down, where my mixed up life could mend
Held a job on an oil-rig
Flying choppers when I could
But the nightlife nearly drove me round the bend

And I've travelled round the world from year to year
And each one found me aimless, one more year the more for wear
And I've been back to South East Asia
But the answer sure ain't there
But I'm drifting north, to check things out again

@Arcusinoz uraban myth lol are you serious ..the viet nam vets including aussie SAS boys got ribbed by the WW1 and WW2 vets because they claimed it was not a war it was garbage,that was told be an EX SAS officer when he returened and went to the first RSL meeting ..he got gutted by the old timers ..the vietnam vets were shamed by the media and a vast majority belived it ..the vietnam vets deserve our thanks all the time because the poor buggers never got it when they got home

@ditroia its cuz people were pissed at the government because we had conscription to be part of a war that didn't affect our shores directly. It was a war that didn't need to happen but you can blame the guys who were involved only the government. Those men did what they had to do and they should be honoured for that
