China's flamboyant Olympics opening ceremony on Friday has lost some of its lustre, following an official's revelation of lip-synching at the over-the-top event.
In an interview with Beijing Radio, Chen Qigang, the ceremony's chief music director, admitted that the pig-tailed, nine-year-old girl in a red dress shown singing was actually lip-synching Ode to the Motherland to audio of another girl, deemed not as pretty but with a lovelier voice.

I remember being in a Fry's Electronics store when I first saw the opening ceremony of the Chinese Olympic games playing there, on DVD, on one of their big TV screens. It was the girl on stage singing (or as the case was, lip-syncing) the Chinese anthem; and I was immediately taken by the scene. One must not forget that the entire purpose of the show was to stage the perfect performance, and it worked. It worked splendidly; and the audience around the world was captivated.

@biglips1020 I think you don't have to be jealous to point out a truth. Nobody needs to be perfect, but better not pretend to be perfect neither...In fact the real singer was cute and nothing less than the fake one
