Convert your old Tomy motorized Gordon to use a 9 Volt battery. This should work with all of the trains that take a C cell in the tender.

  • can i do this on edward and james?

  • @01luisgabriel Yes, check out my James and Boco how to video /watch?v=mRgt_Gd7xKE

  • I did this to

My boys train today but it doesn't seem to have the power for long is that the same in your case very nice display by the way

  • @GSSKTJE Thank you, I plan to have a how to for the new trackmaster James and Boco diesel up soon. Yes the battery seems to use up its juice quite fast compared to the standard C cell. I have also noticed that even though it is fast, it seems to lose its pulling power when the motor spins at high speeds. Slow and steady are key to hauling heay loads I guess.

  • do you know if this mod will work for the talking gordon also is powered from the tender but its 3 AAA ins tead of 1 C, great video..

  • @SEIKOHGIKEN I would think twice about modding a talking train. The circuits that make him talk may get damaged by the extra current and voltage. The only thing that is powered in the older trains is the motor.

  • @deejayy2k I used a 3xAAA holder from one of those cheap LED flashlights, it only half fits in the tender but works very well. experimental at this stage.

  • I did a gordon today who runs on 3x AAA alkalines he goes fast but not stupid fast and doesn't drain the battery as much

  • I Love The Video It Can Increase My Knowledge This should work with all of the trains that take a C cell in the tender.
