http://idfspokesperson.com/ Sergeant First Class Gilad Shalit was released today after more than five years in Hamas captivity. While holding Sgt. 1st Class Shalit in captivity, the Hamas terrorist organization denied repeated requests by the Red Cross in Gaza to monitor his condition and limited contact with him to only letters and video tapes.

On June 25, 2006, eight members of the Hamas terrorist organization, armed with explosive charges, anti-tank missiles and light arms, used an underground tunnel to enter Israeli territory and attack an Israeli army outpost. During the attack within Israeli territory, members of the Hamas terrorist organization killed two Israeli soldiers, wounded three and abducted Sgt. 1st Class Shalit near the Kerem Shalom land
crossing.

Sgt. 1st Class Shalit was 19 years old at the time of his abduction. He is the son of Aviva and Noam Shalit and the brother of Yoel and Hadas. Sgt. 1st Class Shalit excels in math, graduating with distinction from the science class of Manor Kabri High School. He is also a major sports fan, with a passion for playing basketball.

  • @Palestinier4LIFE looool, this is so funny, you Palestinians have a strange sense of humour. Everyone who is not blind can see how badly Shalit was treated. No food, no sun, no medical treatment, no contact to his family, no visits by Red Cross. Isolation is torture and a war crime.

Contrary to this the freed Palestinian prisoners were fat and sunburnt. They were allowed to study in prison. They were allowed to contact their families. This is proof that Israelis treat Palestinians correctly.

  • @FCBFlesto Stop babbling nonsense! Jerusalem was INHABITED by the Jews for many centuries - what do you mean they "never found it"?! It doesn't even matter that the Christians and Muslims conquered it later on - Jerusalem is a Jewish city, just like Mecca is an Arab city. Oh, and Palestine is FREE, numbnuts - because Israel is there - the ONLY free, democratic country in the Middle East. A country in which Israeli Arabs have more rights and more freedom than they would in any Arab country!

  • @forzadeco Of course they kept him alive because he was valuable. But if Gilad had become seriously ill they would never have brought him to a hospital or had him treated by a doctor. They rather would have let him die. The same with a hunger strike: Gilad knew they would let him die, so a hunger strike was useless. This is the difference to Palestinian prisoners who refuse to eat: They know the Israelis will finally give in because a dead Palestinian prisoner will cause an intifada.

  • @gothelind You do see the other facts right ? . Let me start out saying i think its wonderfull gilad went home. Its amazing. BUT.

I promise you they gave him food and checked often if he was sick, cause if he would suddenly die or anything else. He would be useless. At the same point if gilad was a "hardboy" he would say " i dont eat " then they could do nothing and the would lose and lose

    Brainwashed kiddo

  • ISREAL DID 9-11!!

  • @HalalKafir

100% correct and you only forgot to mention that no one has asked the Arabs living in the Shomron and Yehuda if they prefer Israeli sovereignty or another type. Polls indicate that many prefer Israel to rule, since they have protection from gangs and crime. Things have never been better for them as well.

  • The Shalit family shows their gratitude for all that the country did by trying to get a Knesset seat under the defunct Labor party. What a shocking slap in the face.

  • @gothelind How can you imprison this amount of people and say we have treated the people of this country correctly.. if it's not for the amount of Palestinians behind bars for the studpidest of reasons Gilad wouldn't have been imprisoned in the first place, don't start a fire and complain how it burnt down everything!

  • @gothelind and @HalaKafir Thanks for making the case. Those against Israel call names and fire rockets from schools in Gaza to schools in S'derot. They think this is what passes for rational arguement. And they bellieve they are great warriors because they cower behind their own children. Those who are not filled with hate see the difference.May peace follow those who defend Israel. May God continue to defend His people. Not because Israel is perfect, but because our God is perfect, and His ways
