How to play Ufouria (NES)

So I discovered a great NES gem a few days ago. And I simply loved it up to this point.

To get to this area you have to jump across a pool of acid by bouncing off enemies, problem is, this is virtually impossible (at least I never found an effective way to do it).

So my solution was to jump as many of the three enemies I could, switch to the dinosaur character (who knows how to swim) and jump to safety as fast as possible. But even with this tactic your life would be drained to 0 heart containers and about 10-40 HP. So to get back to the other side of the pond withouth dying, some grinding was needed. Tape ftw!
