Bill Gates is a very kind philantropist, but the 80% figure is wrong. If you want the full story, Google "reuters Warren Buffett, Bill Gates ask billionaires to give away wealth" (without quote marks), and you'll see that those two billionaires have urged rich people to pledge to give away at least 50% of their wealth at their death, and to publicly state that they are doing so. I can't find any mention of a specific number for Gates but he has ALREADY given over 28 billions in the past. :-)
